Since our charter in 1977, Post No. 573 of the American Legion has been welcoming Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country, and Community.
Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below:
For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America
To maintain law and order
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars
To inculcate a sense of individual obligations to the community, state, and nation
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses
To make right the master of might
To promote peace and goodwill on earth
To safeguard and transmit to posterity, the principles of Justice, Freedom, and Democracy
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness
To the wonderful patriotic citizens of the Harker Heights. Help us to continue supporting our Active Duty military, veterans, and familiy members which include a safe place for comradery, special events, scholarship programs, sporting programs, community programs & projects, and by providing emergency financial support.
